Some amazing things are happening around Health Quest! Yesterday we had a workshop with over 100 people in attendance. That was a record for us. What an amazing thing to see all of that energy and excitement! I also want to apologize for the chaos for those of you in attendance. We simply were not prepared for such a big crowd. We are currently looking into other sites at which to hold our larger workshops. In the mean time, we are going to go back to capping our workshop capacity at 50 people. We want to stay in the good graces of our fire Marshall! If you have not been to a workshop in a while, it is time you come see what the buzz is about. Just make sure you have a seat reserved ahead of time. The sign up sheet is still at the front desk and guests are always welcome.
The exciting thing to me is what this represents. It is inspiring for our team to see so many people here in our community taking proactive steps to be healthy. The majority of people are waiting for a cure, or super drug, or new health care plan. Ultimately the responsibility to maintain a healthy body falls in your own lap. Your decisions matter. Poor health simply does not come from bad germs, bad genes or bad luck. Every decision you make affects your health...going to bed on time, eating breakfast, a salad for lunch, an adjustment, not letting that car that just cut you off anger you, skipping dessert, getting that run in, etc.
Our goal has always been to serve first as an educational center, and second as a healing center. That is my motivation for sending out this letter each week. Knowledge is power and when it comes to health there is plenty of misinformation from the so-called experts. Your body heals itself when given the chance. That has been the case since we were first created.
It occurred to me on my drive home from the office that I have not shared our vision with you recently. Our focus is to serve 10,000 people here in Albuquerque each week. Why that number you ask? Well first that would be 1% of the population of Albuquerque and the surrounding communities. Second, that is how many prescriptions a busy pharmacy fills in just one day! I think we would just begin to create a tipping point for health care here in our community at that number.
We still have a ways to go, but the feedback we have received this year from our changes like the expanded, no-appointment open adjusting hours, no-wait policy, and significantly reduced fees has been amazing. Every day neighbors, friends, relatives, even ex-boyfriends and girlfriends all seem to be crossing paths in our office. Our tiny office is becoming a community linking New Mexico friends and neighbors together, and it is exciting to watch! We now have many people come from all around the state. Some drive up to 2.5 hours one way just to come get adjusted.
I am not sure how it will all look down the road, but I assure you we will maintain the principles that have allowed you to trust us with the health of you and your family. Thank you for supporting us and staying well-adjusted.
Remember, 7 days without and adjustment makes "one weak"...sorry for that one :)
